2016 májusában elkezdik forgatni a Trainspotting (1996) második részét. Az eredeti főszereplővel, Ewan McGregor-al készült egy interjú ezen a héten amiben elmesélte, hogy azért döntött úgy az egész eredeti színészgárda, hogy részt vesznek a második részben, mert Danny Boyle az első rész rendezője, írója és producere egy "nagyon, nagyon, nagyon erős" forgatókönyvet mutatott nekik. Az interjú egészen rövidke és föleg mosolygásból áll, de azt azért megtudtam belőle, hogy a főszereplő 10 éve még nem biztos, hogy belement volna egy második részbe. Remélem nem nagyon fogják elrontani, én még jó második részt egyetlen "kultfilmből" sem láttam eddig, de ez biztosan más lesz. Itt megnézhető az interjú:
