Roofs yawn in the stomach of dawn,
Buildings swallow roads and pavements.
I do not need myself anymore;
This existence can be accounted for as a failure.
A red-crossed white flag in the opposite yard,
A sad reminder of right-wing fools.
At least two cars are in front of every home,
and cheap plastic trampolines are in gardens,
The landscape is like a bizarre cabaret.
I've had two coffees; I need more
To survive this day and my thoughts.
The neighbour's child is crying and yelling,
Human noises awakened by life.
I want to be somewhere in space,
Where it's silent and lifeless.
