We lie
They lie
I lie
Nothing will change
until mineral resources are fully depleted
They lie
I lie
We lie
Humans need the latest drop of clean water,
and aim to get the final litre of crude oil
They lie
We desire to own the last gramme of lithium, iron
To sell and produce them
They lie
I do
We do
We seek more business
until the last gramm coil can be burned
and until they catch the last
fish in the ocean
We produce more plastic
Our agriculture, mining and tourism are like the skin cancer on Earth
But you should travel and enjoy your holiday
They lie
I lie
We perceive this world as our possession
Money does not have any morality
And it governs this civilization
Do you understand what this means?
There could be weeping and sorrow
Perhaps... More cruelty
Further wars and conflicts
I cannot even fantasize the destiny
Of those just born now
The worst dystopia I can imagine
sounds better than their future
Wars over a bottle of water and food
Battles for air and fertile soil
Oh, hold on... this isn't a glimpse into the future
This has already commenced
This might sound like a bizarre prophecy
Of course, I cannot foresee what's to come
I might be wrong, And
The future will be bright and joyful
Something resembling that
Most people and politicians try to lie
And companies suggest in their marketing
They still try to use the economy as a magic wand
They persist in conflating love with GDP
There is more popularism and extremism everywhere.
More and more hidden frustration
Caused by the gradual unveiling of reality:
We do not have superpowers...
All current economic models will fail
As each one is built upon greed
They simply don't label it as such;
Calling it capital and investment.
Yes. Ok, no complaints.
This is a planet-sized madhouse.
I do not want to be a part of this.
But, I must live here.
I regard myself as a tree or a cat
Not desiring to be human
However, this offers no excuse
I am a sinner, too.
