If you skip festivals altogether
If you opt out of social media due to its energy waste
If you have decided against having children in an overpopulated world
They don't get it, or they laugh
If you care about such matters, you're usually labelled foolish
I am stupid, yes
Yes, I'm foolish, okay
I live amongst a billion geniuses
They want to be successful
They strive for success
They yearn for more business
Yeah, we require more startups
The politicians say more factories are needed, and coal mines must reopen
They persist in thinking all will be well
Now, reaching 1.5°C global warming is nearly certain
Just a few years back, they claimed it wouldn't occur
Now, scientists predict global temperatures will climb to at least 2.5°C
Do you grasp the significance?
Nobody really does... but I feel it will be horrific...
Nothing is changing
The status quo endures
Politicians won't lift a finger, fueled by the votes of ignoramuses
If politicians spoke the truth, their support would disappear
Fools are drawn to fools
So, yeah, enjoy your life
So, why not relish life?
Travel extensively
Go on extended air-travel vacations
Eat meat thrice daily
And have children and buy a plastic shit to them
Drive your car daily; get one for each kin
And keep birthing more and more children
While You consume their future now
Demolish their planet
But tell them every day you love them
