Kagylókék kocsonyában sétáltunk hajnalban,
két régi barát Alkrington hűvös nyelve alatt,
rózsákat képzeltünk a kerítések dárdái fölé,
a marshmallow égbolt ezernyi szeme darálthúsként
csepegve a vértől, elénk pöttyözte jövőnk gyűrűit,
beengedtük a késő nyár vonaglását lépteink közé,
mint apró bárányokat, melyek élve megnyúzva,
utolsó segélynyeritésükkel még felfogják,
hogy a táj minden része magában horodozza
az élet mindegyeinek halkan kopogó ritmusát.
